WHERE TO NOW FOR CROSS RIVER RAIL?

Skarpa's Managing Director, Scott Keniston will present at the next Australasian Tunnelling Society technical session in Brisbane on the 13th of August. This presentation "Major Underground Projects - Where to now for Cross River Rail?" covers the history and ‘need’ for the project, as detailed in initial capacity studies in 2006, to completed reference designs and EIS progress in recent years. The talk aims to shed light on options for the rail capacity problem and concepts for the project delivery. The talk also contrasts the success of toll road development in Brisbane and the limited progress in rail, by examining broader structural issues in infrastructure design and funding which have contributed to this situation, not just in Queensland, but across the nation.
